Understanding your Constitution or doshas means understanding yourself. There is constant interplay between your internal doshas and the influence of the factors around you. For example: the weather, the food you eat, the behaviour and nature of those around you, all affect your internal doshic state. Knowledge about your constitution can give you vital clues on what to eat and how to live to stay healthy and happy. The science of doshas honours your individuality, it will help you to support your true nature, better understanding of your children, partner and reveal simple life style measures that can keep you and your family running harmoniously.
Ayurveda gives you the power to understand these interactions and keep your self feeling balanced, healthy and calm. You could know more about Ayurveda and meet the cognoscenti ayurvedic doctor (Vaidya) Sajimon George in Australia’s reputed AYUR CLINIC in Melbourne.
To help you better to understand your constitution, we’ve provided a brief questionnaire below. We recommend printing out the questionnaire and circling the answers with a pen. For each statement listed beneath Vata, Pitta and Kapha, circle the number that most closely indicates how much it applies to you. Then, add up the numbers to get a total score for each dosha. We recommend first answering the questions in accordance with general trends throughout your life. This will give you a better understanding of your underlying birth constitution, or prakruti. Then answer the questions in accordance with how you look, feel, and behave today. For example, if you’ve slept well throughput your life, but just started having sleeping problems, the second set of answers will reflect this current imbalance, or vikruti. It’s also important to remember that most individuals have one primary dosha, followed by a prominent secondary dosha.
Please keep in mind that this information is not a diagnostic tool to understand your constitution, but to give you a general idea about how it works. For an accurate constitution analysis you may need to consult a qualified Ayurvedic doctor.
