Miraculous self-healing power of human body

When you accidentally cut your hands with a knife, it is indeed a painful incident for you to overcome, but it is not permanent. You are not going to wander with the cut forever. In fact, you nearly forget about it while the pain subsides and body is busy healing it.

“Your body is a self-healing organism” says Lissa Rankin, a physician. Our human body has a astonishing power to heal itself. It’s ability to function retards and we get into diseases only when our body is denied of the basic requirements to thrive healthy.

A single cell is the origin of all human body. There are millions of cells in human body. The cells divide and renew each second and thrive to keep our body in the state of equilibrium. We seek the help of medicine only to facilitate the natural healing capacity of our body. When an injury happens to our body, blood oozes out and slowly coagulates and forms a protective scab on the wound. Under this scab an amazing healing process takes place. The tissue/nerve or cells in the muscle starts multiplying rapidly. The severed edges are soon repaired and a bridge of cells develop between the cut. Many new cells multiply while the old ones that are permanently damaged are digested and destroyed by the enzymes in white blood cells. The protective scab attaches to the wound till the it is completely healed and falls off when it is no more required.

In a very similar manner damaged tissues and blood vessels are fixed by our own body naturally. When a bone is fractured, a liquid is secreted at the damaged ends of the bone. This liquid later hardens and forms like a temporary bone till the bones gets naturally healed.

When a foreign body like a tiny piece of wood or iron enters human body, our body finds a miraculous way to push it out. An abcess is formed around the particle and the cells are diffused and the puss develops till the surface is broken and the piece is expelled from the body.

When you have a bruise, it is a effusion of blood under the surface by a severe blow. This causes the tissues to collapse and many cells are damaged permanently causing discoloration and inflammation in that area with pain. But with passage of time, new cells replicate and replace the damaged ones.

The most impressive fact about it is – all this happens automatically without our conscious effect. It is important we are aware of the wonders that our human body possess. Know about the nature of our immune system and the barriers of self healing in the following part of the article. Keep wondering !
